- 2X CTSI grant-writing program participants who submitted an NIH K award application were funded at more than two times the national average (65% Ohio State CTSI vs. 32% national average)
- 3X CTSI Launch to R program participants secured R01 or equivalent funding at more than three times the national NIH R01 funding rate (63% Ohio State CTSI vs. 20% national average)
- $58.8M CTSI KL2 scholars have collectively secured $58.8M in federal funding dollars (KL2 was predecessor to K12)
The CTSI has resources to help faculty develop funding pipelines.
Periodically, the CTSI releases Requests for Applications (RFAs) for pilot research projects, training and career development grants and other funding programs.

Clinical and Translational Science Pilot Program (CTSP) , opens in a new tab
The CTSP award supports highly meritorious research that explores a translational science-directed hypothesis for the development of preliminary data. This funding mechanism is designed to enable investigators to be competitive in applying for extramural funding.
CTS-AI Award
The Clinical and Translational Science AI Innovation (CTS-AI) Award funds highly meritorious interdisciplinary clinical and translational science (CTS) projects that develops AI tools to advance health for all.
Additional Awards and Funding
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) will provide supplemental funding to PIs on R01 and other specific research grants to enhance the diversity of the research workforce.
