Daniel M. Walker, PhD, MPH

Dr. Walker is the vice chair of Research and an associate professor of Family and Community Medicine in The Ohio State University College of Medicine. His research is focused on strategies to improve health services, and is particularly attentive to the issues of organizational change for primary care and health systems. In this context, his work examines and facilitates collaborative relationships across healthcare and community partners to support population health. Recent projects have focused on topics including food-is-medicine approaches to improve diabetes management among individuals experiencing food insecurity, medication management for cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic syndrome, community-based approaches to implementing evidence-based strategies to reduce opioid fatalities, and practice transformation for federally-qualified health centers. His work applies theories that draw from organizational science, dissemination and implementation science, and health behavior.

Their work on the effectiveness of GLP1s and SGLT2s for cardiovascular health has advanced our understanding of the real-world and long-term impact of these medications on health outcomes.
