Kick-off the fall semester with a hands-on workshop on using the R programming language to make your research more efficient and reproducible!
Kick-off the fall semester with a hands-on workshop on using the R programming language to make your research more efficient and reproducible!
Whether you are new to computing or just looking to pick up a new language, getting started with R is a great way to expand your research toolkit. Participants will learn:
- The basics of using R in RStudio
- Best practices for code and project management
- How to explore, manipulate and visualize data in R
This workshop will be held on Zoom and will not be recorded. It is open to graduate students, faculty and staff researchers from all disciplines and no prior experience is required.
Installation instructions will be sent to registrants approximately one week before the workshop.
This event will be taught by Jelmer Poelstra, Horacio Lopez-Nicora and Jessica Cooperstone from OSU Code Club and is presented in partnership with the Imageomics Institute and the Research Commons.
Can’t make it this time?
For more opportunities to practice or get started coding during the semester, check out the workshop on Version Control with Git (Friday, Aug. 21) or join one of The Ohio State University’s coding communities for researchers:
- OSU Code Club: Weekly informal meeting focused on learning R
- IPR R Working Group: Monthly workshops on using R in the social sciences
