CTSI Annual Scientific Meeting

Thank you for attending the CTSI Annual Scientific Meeting, where we explored pressing challenges and innovative approaches in rural health research, care delivery and community impact.

We are grateful to our keynote speakers for sharing their powerful stories and insights: John Carl Barba II, MD, MPH; Lori Criss, MSW; and Electra Paskett, PhD, FACE, FAACR, FASCO.

We also hope you gained tips from Sara Serritella during our special session on communicating your science, learned something new about the impactful work taking place across campus during the speed presentations and had time to view the posters and connect with colleagues from across campus and beyond.

To help us continue improving the Annual Scientific Meeting, we kindly ask that you take five minutes to complete the survey and share your feedback to help make the event even better next year.

The Clinical and Translational Science Institute's 2026 Annual Scientific Meeting theme is, Advancing Health Through Science and Partnerships for a Healthier Future, and will spotlight pressing challenges and innovative approaches across rural health research, care delivery and community impact.

Rural Health will be highlighted at this year's event but the agenda will include topics that span the full spectrum of translational science, including clinical research, basic science, community-engaged research, implementation science and other health initiatives. Our keynote session features John Carl Barba II, MD, MPH, who will share his personal experiences growing up in Appalachia, alongside Lori Criss, MSW, and Electra Paskett, PhD, FACE, FAACR, FASCO, who will discuss their work and leadership to improve rural health outcomes.

We’re also excited to welcome Sara Serritella, a nationally recognized science communication expert, for a high‑energy special session on how to communicate your science with clarity and impact. In just one hour, learn strategies to make your work memorable, strengthen trust, reach key audiences and position your research for long‑term success.
