FY27 Cohort Applications are Now Closed
Applications for the RAPTIC (Research Accelerator Program to Translate, Innovate and Commercialize) FY27 Cohort are now closed. Thank you to all faculty who submitted applications.
The mission of RAPTIC is to facilitate and accelerate progress in translational and clinical research at The Ohio State University by increasing awareness of and access to key resources and training. The program helps researchers identify and advance innovative ideas with the potential for intellectual property (IP) protection, external funding, commercialization, and implementation in healthcare or biomedical settings.
Although applications for the FY27 cohort are no longer being accepted, faculty and research teams are still welcome to participate in individual RAPTIC learning sessions, which will be offered monthly from September 2026 through May 2027.

RAPTIC Learning Sessions: Registration Open
Registration is open for the 2026-2027 RAPTIC Learning Sessions, a monthly series of in-person workshops designed to help faculty advance innovative research ideas from discovery to real-world impact.
Sessions are held September 2026 through May 2027 and feature expert-led training, individualized feedback, and practical guidance through three stages of the innovation process:
- Phase 1: Ideas to Innovation – Strengthen research programs and identify opportunities for translation and innovation.
- Phase 2: Intellectual Property & Product Development – Explore IP protection, customer discovery, market assessment, and commercialization planning.
- Phase 3: Commercialization & Implementation – Advance technologies toward licensing, startup formation, regulatory pathways, and real-world adoption.
When: Monthly, 2:30-4:30 p.m.
